About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP of Risk Management to lead the establishment and operationalization of risk management frameworks across its global platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and embedding a risk management culture that is commercially oriented, with a focus on minimizing user friction for regulatory compliance and risk mitigation. Key activities for this role include establishing an advisory and consulting practice to assess vulnerabilities, defining policies and targets for acceptable loss ratios, and optimizing risk operations. The VP will also be tasked with developing partnerships with product and business unit leaders to identify, mitigate, and monitor risks, as well as driving the risk culture throughout the organization. Applicants for the VP of Risk Management position at the company should have a minimum of 12 years of work experience, with a background in the payments industry and financial services. The role requires advanced knowledge and skills in risk management practices, including risk taxonomies, appetite, assessment, and mitigation. The ideal candidate will have experience in building high-performing teams and a proven track record in identifying, assessing, managing, and reporting risks. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. The VP will be expected to work closely with product management to ensure that risk assessment processes are integrated into the product lifecycle and to conduct postmortems on key initiatives to identify and address risks.
