Job Details

• Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for basic nursing duties including execution of physician orders, operation of pill call, and assisting the physician in examinations and treatments.
• Assists in the professional management of the facility medical department.
• Attend sick call with the physician to see inmates/residents; prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined; prepare examining room and equipment.
• Operate pill call, dispense medication and document as required by applicable policies and/or procedures.
• Perform emergency procedures as needed.

Job Requirements

• Valid Arizona LPN license required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Schedule Information

• Rotating shifts required.
• 66-day contract length.

Unit Specific Information

• Work in a correctional environment with potential exposure to hostile situations.

Additional Details

• Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records.
• Assist with preparing and maintaining a variety of standard narrative, statistical, summary and/or operational records, reports and logs.
• Respond to lawsuits; attend court hearings when necessary.
