Telecom Engineer

Astor & Sanders Corporation (Astor) is an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA and is seeking a Telecom Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time position and is onsite at our client's location in Lakewood, CO.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure system resources are available by completing daily morning checks of all critical servers.
• Support remote customers by installing Media Gateways (LSPs and SLSs) software and planning routine solutions.
• Support customer communications by providing daily MACs, voice recordings, scripting and call routing support.
• Ensure appropriate resource allocation by completing PBX programming of VDNs, Vectors, Trunk groups and gateways.
• Complete monthly/quarterly maintenance and backups for Telecom servers.
• Manage telephony servers, applications and peripherals by performing day-to-day support operations.
• Ensure most up to date releases and patches are completed on all Linux servers, gateways and VoIP/SIP telephones, to include media module updates.
• Manage ticketing system in response to daily troubleshooting and repairs and complete weekly status reports
• Interact with Avaya technical support and Telecom operations, in support of the maintenance contract.
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Telecom Engineer
• Minimum of 3 years working with Avaya Communications Manager, voicemail systems, Call Management System (CMS), and Call Detail Recording (CDR)
• Minimum of 2 years experience with processing tickets in a ticketing system
• Experience with VoIP systems and protocols, particularly Avaya
• Experience with configuring Media Gateways, Port Networks, call routing, trunking, and PBX system administration
• Experience with network infrastructure and protocols
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
