We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated professional who is ready to take their career to the next level. You will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of our company, ensuring that our financial records are accurate and up-to-date. In this role, you will play a key role in financial reporting, financial analysis, internal auditing, and month-end reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliation.
  • Conduct regular ledger processes, prepare financial statements and reports, and compile and analyze financial reporting packages.
  • Prepare internal and external financial reports, ensuring they comply with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and assist with external audits.
  • Manage the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems.
  • Perform monthly payroll functions, including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
  • Coordinate with the finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
  • Evaluate computerized accounting systems and provide recommendations to IT team for performance improvements.
  • Generate financial reports and statements to Managers for review.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or related field.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and financial software programs.
  • High proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Experience with creating financial statements and financial reporting.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
