URGENT HIRING!!

Location: Washington, DC

We are currently seeking a Sr. Audiovisual Technician to join a leading firm and manage innovative A/V systems! You’ll work with the latest audio, video, and display technologies, including Panasonic projectors, LG Transparent OLED Monitors, and Microsoft Surface tablets.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you’ll collaborate with the facilities and exhibits teams, as well as external vendors, while leading a team of two part-time A/V Technicians. Responsibilities:

• Ensure all exhibit technology is operating, updated, cleaned, and generally maintained in accordance with maintenance standards.
  
• Conduct daily (morning) walks of the exhibit spaces to ensure all exhibit systems are functioning. Conduct daily (evening) walks of the exhibit spaces to ensure all exhibit systems are shut down correctly.
  
• Rapidly diagnose and resolve system issues during opening hours.
  
• Manage an exhibit log to document problems and maintenance actions.
  
• Work with the Director of Operations to maintain an equipment inventory and warranties for all A/V equipment.
  
• Maintain collaborative relationships with external A/V providers and exhibit integrators.
  
• Perform minor repairs and routine cleaning of all equipment in the exhibits, lobby, classrooms, and offices.
  
• Maintain all IT/AV rack room locations to ensure cleanliness, proper labeling, and all other conditions.
  
• As required, assist with set-up, execution, and break-down of A/V systems for events outside of working hours.
  

Requirements

• CTS or CTS-I certification preferred.
  
• Required: 5+ years’ relevant experience in the A/V field, preferably for other museum and cultural institutions.
  
• Required: Strong knowledge of CMS systems, computers, projectors, video displays, and IT/AV rack rooms.
  
• Required: Ability to lift up to 50-80 pounds
  
• Required: Must be comfortable working on large (16ft) ladders.
  
• Preferred: Previous experience managing a team
  
• Preferred: Relevant certifications and/or higher level education
