If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Software Support Engineer at IMS Nanofabrication's Hillsboro, OR location. At IMS Nanofabrication, we are embarking on a journey to bolster our service capabilities in the USA. As a Software Support Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in becoming a member of a team of highly motivated engineers and ensuring a seamless interface with our local customers and our headquarters in Vienna. Your contributions as part of the engineering team will shape the future success of IMS USA.
Your Responsibilities: - Provide first line software service support of our Multi-beam Mask Writer in High-Tech Fabs on customer sites.
- Debugging and analysis gain deeper knowledge about our multi beam mask writer hardware and software architecture.
- Maintain diverse Linux based operating systems while mentoring the FSEs and other team members.
- Documenting issues and steps to resolve electrical issues on the tool.
- Perform Software and configuration upgrades.
- Support first level troubleshooting and solution finding of system problems.
- Write reports of your tasks and activities using ticket tracking systems (Jira).
- Take project ownership and contribute stand-alone work on projects.
- Support building up standard operation procedures.
- Implement automation of the tasks and procedures.
- Be open for occasional flexible working arrangements and rotational shifts.
Your Qualifications: - BS or MS in computer science or scientific, engineering degree (e.g. electrical engineering, physics, chemistry) with applicable experience PLC technical certification.
- Experience and knowledge in Linux based operating systems.
- Good understanding of Network Technology.
- Willingness to work in a clean room environment.
- Very good spoken and written English.
- Analytical thinking and ability to face challenges in problem solving.
- Able to work in stressful situations, resilient.
- Team player and very good communication skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel 30% per year.
- Hands on mentality and customer-oriented thinking.
- Proactive mindset and ability to work independently.
- Git experience advantageous.
- Python or other programming languages and database experience.
- Vendor experience with customers in the semiconductor industry.
