Overview:

The Social Worker II provides clinical care to children, adolescents, adults, and families. This includes mental health and medically-focused psychosocial evaluations; therapeutic interventions; and coordination of care under supervision of a board registered supervisor. The Social Worker II participates on client & family centered interdisciplinary teams reflecting strengths and needs of the client consistent with the values and principles of the practice of social work. The Social Worker II may be involved in training activities, outreach, and research as members of interdisciplinary programs and the department. This position requires flexibility in scheduling to accommodate after-school, and some early evening appointments.

40 hours per week, Onsite, 801 Outpatient Location.

Salary (FTE): Minimum starting salary at $68,000 per year and based on years of experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Provides mental health and medically-focused psychosocial evaluations to clients referred for social work services.
2. Provides mental health treatment and medically-focused interventions to assigned clients.
3. Provides coordination of care on behalf of clients in collaboration with KKI interdisciplinary staff and community agencies. May attend internal and external meetings focused on client care.
4. Is responsible for utilizing weekly supervision, interdisciplinary consultation, independent study, and training activities to ensure the delivery of high quality care based upon the needs of clients served in the assigned program(s) and/or clinic(s).
5. Provides timely appropriate documentation according to professional, departmental and KKI guidelines, while maintaining billing and productivity standards.
6. May serve on committees and may participate in training, outreach, and research activities, as assigned.
7. Assists in the establishment and monitoring of performance improvement/performance evaluation standards.

Qualifications:

• Must possess and maintain Graduate Social Worker (LMSW) license, issued by the Board of Social Work Examiners, Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
• Must take exam for advanced licensure at the LCSW-C level within six months of obtaining sufficient client and supervision hours. Must pass the LCSW-C exam and be eligible for promotion within three attempts of taking the exam, and within one year of first taking the exam.
• *Individual must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and families served by KKI.
• *Clinical care focus is on the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, as well as some adults with disabilities.

EDUCATION:

• Master's degree from an accredited school of Social Work is required.

EXPERIENCE:

• The candidate must have clinical experience through internships or job placements in the provision Social Work services, preferably for children, adolescents and young adults with developmental, learning and/or emotional disabilities.
