Ringling College's social media platforms are used to inform, educate, communicate, and promote the College to our internal and external constituents, including current and prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and the general public.
Creative Writing has multiple positions available for current students who are passionate about Ringling College and are active on social media. The Social Media Content Creator role will assist in building and maintaining the College's department's social media presence through content planning and creation.
In this position, students work alongside the Department Head and/or the Social Media Manager to create content for the College's department accounts, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and may assist in content creation. Content creation includes written content as well as multimedia content (photographs, videography, graphics, etc.). In addition to regular office hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm), evening and/or weekend work may be required throughout the year.
The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the job: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Create engaging content that fosters school spirit and inclusivity and is in alignment with College brand standards (visual and editorial).
- Research and present new methods of engaging stakeholders online.
- Actively promote and support Ringling College's social media accounts by sharing, commenting, and otherwise engaging with content.
- Take photographs and videos at events specifically the Visiting Writers Forum events and SHiFT.
- Stay current with social media trends, tools, and applications
- Solicit ideas from fellow students, sleuth out relevent contest submissions for CRWR students and conduct fun CRWR student interviews for the weekly department Roundup email
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: - Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Must exercise good judgment in creating content and engaging with content online.
- The ability to interact with faculty, staff, and students in a courteous and professional manner.
- Experience with shooting and editing video content for social media.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, including a strong command of the English language.
Education and Experience - Must be enrolled at Ringling College of Art and Design
- Experience with various social media channels including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
