College/Department Information The Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine is charged with conducting high-impact original biomedical research and translating the findings to clinical applications, and in educating future physicians and researchers. Our research addresses fundamental questions in basic and translational neuroscience, particularly in neuronal degeneration and regeneration.

Job Summary Participate in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols; develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures; publish results in scientific journals. Perform bone studies using gene knockout mouse models. Will help to maintain mouse breeding colonies. Will perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities The duties include, but are not limited to:Participate in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols; develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures; publish results in scientific journals.
Perform experiments using conditional knockout mouse models and drug treatment to study changes in bone density/structure, as well as marrow inflammation.
Perform molecular biology experiments such as qRT-PCR, cell culture, microscopic, and statistical analysis.
Will help to maintain mouse breeding colonies and genotyping.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science, or a clinical setting particularly clinical trials research and minimum of two years of applicable experience.
Preferred Qualifications A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Orthopedics.
Experience in the field of bone research (osteoporosis) with expertise in lab animal handling and molecular biology skills are preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLSExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking, prioritization and organizational skills.
ABILITIESAbility to maintain confidentiality. Willingness and ability to work with research animals.
Shift/Salary/Benefits Part-Time (0.75 FTE)Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required).
Pay Band: B6
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
