Job Description:

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Sanitation Manager to lead our pest control, environmental monitoring programs, hygienic restoration, and SSOP development within our Aseptic Food Manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing, with a proven track record of leading a team, driving the safety of people, and Quality of products with a continuous improvement mindset. This position will report directly to the Sr. Quality Manager and will focus on the following:

  • Supervises appropriate facility personnel by instructing, allotting work, observing performance, and providing training to maximize sanitation effectiveness as well as employee performance and satisfaction.

  • Teaches plant personnel required sanitation skills as needed.

  • Provide technical expertise to the Manufacturing Operations in all matters of sanitation.

  • Utilizes sanitation procedures, equipment, and technology to assure compliance with TreeHouse Foods and regulatory requirements.

  • Review food processing equipment installation as to the effectiveness of equipment design regarding effective sanitation.

  • Furnishes technical consultation and assistance to engineering and production before, during, and after plant expansions/construction to ensure adequate food safety.

  • Responsible for plant quality and sanitation inspections and reviews government, customer, and 3rd party audits to respond to sanitation-related non-conformances/deficiencies.

  • Establish measurable performance standards for facility sanitation.

  • Keeps current on regulatory restrictions and definitions for the application of chemical cleaners and sanitizers to help insure safe and legal use.

  • Ensure coordination, cooperation, and communication between the manufacturing facility, corporate and contracted sanitation services.

  • Manage the cost of facility cleaning & sanitation.

  • Develops resources in and outside of the facility that will meet facility service needs.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of sanitation technology as it applies to plant pest control while managing the internal facility pest control program.

  • Responsible for the plant's environmental monitoring program and any needed response to the findings.

  • Ensures that all employees adhere to safe work practices.

  • Work as assigned by the QA Manager.

Important Details: This is a full-time role on site in Cambridge, MD. Typical hours are Monday through Friday between 7am to 5pm, candidate MUST be flexible to meet the needs of the business that runs 24/5. Night shift work hours may be necessary depending upon validation scheduling and major sanitation activities.

About You:

  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent technical knowledge within a food manufacturing facility of 5 plus years.

  • Have good interpersonal and leadership skills to communicate effectively at all levels.

  • Familiarity with OSHA, FDA, EPA, HARP-C regulations.

  • SAP experience a plus, among other systems including MS office products.
