Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.

  • Maintain and support all aspects of Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory programs (FSMA, HACCP, SOP, SSOP, Quality, Documentation, etc.).
  • Provide expertise and guidance in interpreting and implementing governmental regulations, agency guidelines and internal policies to ensure compliance.
  • Manage Quality Assurance expectations for suppliers including assessing data generated to ensure compliance to food safety and quality initiatives and communicate effectively while maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Troubleshoot or develop sustainable action plans to resolve any Food Safety, Quality or Compliance issues.
  • Assess data generated by suppliers to ensure compliance to food safety and quality initiatives. 
  • Ensure that all products, processes and facility areas are being evaluated. Assist with all 3rd party, customer and regulatory audits. 
  • Effectively communicate and maintain strong working relationships with all supplier and customer QA departments.
  • Technical support for product 
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing to strengthen branded product specifications and assess required changes on an on-going basis.
  • Manage Quality Assurance department to enable an energetic, productive and cooperative atmosphere.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT:

  • Interacts with State and County Environmental agencies and serves as plant’s spokesperson with on-site inspectors, explaining and providing information regarding plant’s efforts to comply with required specifications.
  • Oversee environmental programs, plans and procedures for compliance with Federal and State regulatory and permit requirements. 
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining facility’s recycling programs.
  • Manage the Solid Waste Compliance Program. 
  • Oversee remediation efforts for the site.
  • Prepare and ensure timely submission of environmental reports to government.
  • Ensure inspection, monitoring, measurement, analytical testing, and recordkeeping requirements for environmental permits including air, storm water, process wastewater, remediation and hazardous waste are completed as required. 
  • Interface with governmental regulatory agencies for environmental compliance and enforcement inspections. 
  • Participate in internal EHS compliance audits and inspections for environmental permits. 
  • Analyze environmental performance metrics, prepare reports, and make recommendations to Senior Management. 
  • Assist Operations and Maintenance in achieving environmental objectives to prevent pollution through on-going improvement programs that reduce the impact of our operations on the environment. 
  • Serves as plant’s official representative at Hearings and Board meetings conducted by the regulatory agencies. 

Qualifications:  

  • A minimum of 3-5 year of experience Quality Control Management.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable practices .
  • Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to prepare records in accordance with detailed instructions. 
  • Must quickly learning to code invoices to the correct expense centers and balance sheet accounts. Accuracy is of work is essential. 
  • Must learn and adhere to security and privacy requirements and policies which are inherently a part of the employer’s industry and environment. 

 

Education/Experience : Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Ability:  

Must always communicate clearly and cordially, and shall work collaboratively with all staff, vendors, auditors and other business contacts. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of investors, vendors, customers, or employees of organization.
