Job Title: Print Estimator

Department: Estimating

Reports To: Vice President, Planning & Procurement

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Print Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for producing timely and accurate estimates for print and mail jobs, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret specifications from customers or sales representatives, resolving any discrepancies.
• Determine the most efficient mix of equipment to produce each job and price accordingly.
• Ensure estimates align with customer expectations while advising on any necessary deviations and efficiency improvements.
• Maintain accurate digital records of all estimates to protect both the company and customers.
• Collaborate with outside vendors for outsourced work and negotiate pricing.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities:

• Maintain a professional, respectful, and positive demeanor.
• Follow directions and complete assignments efficiently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; intermediate computer skills required.
• Prior experience with ERP systems (Print Stream experience is a plus).
• Strong mathematical skills, including calculating discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume.
• Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or spreadsheet instructions and develop accurate pricing plans.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Education & Experience:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of estimating experience in sheetfed and web/web in-line printing, print/bindery, and letter shop/direct mail.
• Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment preferred.
