Job Description

LaSalle Network has partnered with a growing nonprofit organization based in Chicago. Our client specializes in in fundraising and donor solutions by providing top notch support not only in fundraising but also in strategy, campaigns, partnerships and more. As they continue to partner with more leading nonprofits in the Windy City, they are looking to add a Philanthropic Writer to join their team and craft compelling narratives that inspire action and support for their cause.

As a Philanthropic Writer, you will play a key role in developing engaging content that communicates our client’s mission, programs and impact to donors, stakeholders and the broader community. The ideal candidate will have a talent for storytelling and a deep understanding of how to convey the importance of philanthropic support.

Philanthropic Writer Responsibilities:
  • Write persuasive and impactful content for a variety of platforms, including grant proposals, donor reports, newsletters, website copy and social media
  • Develop compelling narratives that highlight the success stories of individuals and communities impacted by our client’s programs
  • Work closely with fundraising, program and communications teams to gather information, understand key messages and produce content that aligns with our client’s organizational goals
  • Conduct research to support grant writing and other fundraising initiatives, ensuring accuracy and relevance of information
  • Review and edit content for clarity, consistency and adherence to organizational style and tone
Philanthropic Writer Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a writer or content creator, preferably in the nonprofit sector or with a focus on philanthropy
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with a portfolio demonstrating your ability to craft persuasive and engaging content
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit fundraising and the role of philanthropy in driving social change
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
This opportunity will be a W-2 contract and candidates must be willing to work a range between 20-40 hours a week. We ask that interested candidates be based in the Chicagoland area as this organization operates on CST and has an office in the Loop.
