JOB SUMMARY: The HR Generalist facilitates the day-to-day operations of assigned human resources functions and duties, while providing strategic HR-related support throughout the organization by building and maintaining strong relationships with leadership and employees. Primary areas of responsibility include Learning & Development, Safety, and Personnel Management. Occasional support with recruitment may be required.
JOB DUTIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Learning and Development
- Schedule, plan and track employee training.
- Ensure that all certificates, licenses, and renewals are documented, and that employees are on track with applicable continuing education requirements.
- Curate and/or create and present training content.
- Add, maintain, and update content of LMS, or OxfordU e-Learning program.
- Add, update, remove users from LMS as needed.
- Coordinate Lunch & Learn events (invitations & reminders, venue booking & set-up, order & set up catering, forms, headcount, create/send post-event surveys).
- Consult with LMS rep to create/update SOP for recordkeeping and reporting.
- Provide monthly and quarterly training updates as needed.
- Evaluate, manage and maintain Career Path and Succession Planning programs.
- Provide guidance and counseling to employees and supervisors regarding employee development.
- Responsible for implementation of and data collection for annual employee Stay Interviews and for system administration of Retention Track in partnership with IT.
- Serve as secondary facilitator for new hire orientation.
- Evaluate and suggest/implement improvements to new hire orientation and onboarding activities; review post onboarding survey feedback.
Safety
- Act as primary internal point of contact for the Safety Program and CINTAS.
- Partner with third party safety consultants to ensure effective safety training for employees, compliance of all federal and state laws, etc.
- Serve as HR department representative on the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
- Maintain Emergency Response Plan (ERP) materials and lead training efforts.
- Primary point of contact for workers compensation.
- Assist with intaking, filing, and responding to Worker's Compensation claims; complete paperwork and OSHA forms as needed.
- Investigate work related accidents, coordinate claim with insurance carrier, and maintain required documentation and reports.
Personnel Management & Employee Relations
- Act as a point of contact for employee-related questions; provide information as requested concerning company policies, procedures or programs.
- Help advise on and facilitate appropriate processes and/or resolutions for employee related issues, including those requiring Counseling Records/Program.
- Provide support with full cycle recruiting activities when needed based on requisition volume.
- Support all employee engagement activities.
- Facilitate the offboarding process for voluntary and involuntary terminations: prepare applicable paperwork, conduct exit interviews, and schedule/lead last day meetings.
- Champion HR department improvements; analyze processes/programs, data, and trends to make recommendations for continuous improvement.
Other/Admin
- Help to update and maintain other applicable department SOPs.
- Maintain & update Labor Law Posters through CINTAS.
- Track and report on applicable HR metrics, work to continually improve in all areas.
- Responsible for applicable HR files, filing systems, forms, and documentation.
- Provide additional support as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field, and 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, or equivalent.
- Ability to design, create, and facilitate/present training materials, or adjacent experience and skills.
- Experience with employee development and/or succession planning.
- Knowledge of Worker's Compensation administration.
- Ability to lead and/or mediate employee meetings to address and resolve issues and conflicts.
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), HRIS, and/or ATS preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and high level of attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to correspond in a professional, businesslike manner with clarity.
- Proven ability to employ active listening, social perceptiveness, and internal/external relationship building skills.
- High level of professionalism, diplomacy, judgment, and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information and situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS: Employee will be regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. Employee will be frequently required to ascend/descent multiple flights of stairs, reach with hands or arms, and occasionally navigate uneven terrain by foot. Employee is occasionally required to sit or stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Normal working office conditions. Noise level in this work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
