Talent Vision, a reputable Staffing and Consulting Firm, is partnering with a well-respected charter school in Trenton, NJ, to fill the position of Middle School History Teacher. As a History Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire students and foster their passion for the past. Key Responsibilities:
Create and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote student interest in history.
Deliver instruction in a clear and compelling manner, utilizing a variety of teaching strategies and resources.
Encourage critical thinking and analysis by challenging students to examine historical evidence and draw their own conclusions.
Incorporate technology and other interactive tools to enhance student learning and engagement.
Assess student understanding and progress, providing timely feedback and support for growth.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that values diversity and promotes respect.
Utilize primary and secondary sources, including digital and print resources, to enhance students' understanding of historical events and concepts.
Integrate relevant current events and real-life connections to help students see the relevance of history in their lives.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective instructional practices and strategies.
Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with historical scholarship and educational trends.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
Valid teaching certification in History or Social Studies for middle school is required.
Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred.
Deep knowledge of historical events, cultures, and concepts.
Passion for teaching history and inspiring student interest in the subject.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and parents/guardians.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of students and respond to changing circumstances.
