Southern Seven Health Department is seeking applications for a regular, full time Health Educator position that is based at the Union County Public Health Clinic in Anna, Illinois . This position does come with a benefit package, including vacation, personal, and sick time accrual, holidays, health and life insurance, and an employer sponsored cafeteria plan. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and providing health and wellness education throughout the lower seven counties in Illinois. This position serves as a liaison between Southern Seven Health Department and various schools, communities, agencies, and businesses.

Qualifications: The applicant must have at a minimum a Bachelor's Degree in a Health Education field or an approved related degree. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively, present information to small and large groups, organized, passionate about health and wellness, and a self-starter.

Pay Range: $21.02-$22.07

Job Duties:

• Develops and presents educational material (evidence-based curricula) and presentations to schools, agencies, churches, and other community groups.
• Works with other staff members and follows all policies/procedures to ensure implementation and success of multiple health education programs.
• Coordinates programming and multiple projects to ensure that all grant deliverables are met.
• Completes and submits required reports, data forms, and narratives in a timely manner.
• Completes surveys, assessments, and assists in evaluating effectiveness of programs.
• Organizes and conducts focus groups within the community.
• Plans and coordinates community events.
• Promotes health for all age groups including appropriate and recommended health screenings and exams.
• Participates in community and coalition meetings.
• Plans, sets up, and attends exhibits (outreaches) to promote health and wellness.
• Follows all policies and procedures related to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned to meet the requirements of the agency.
