Our current focus is to simplify and clarify the operating model between WPP and our brands, modernize and create technology-enabled colleague experiences, and establish an open, integrated technology innovation platform throughout WPP.
As part of this process, we have identified the need for a crucial new role, the Workday HCM Functional Consultant / Functional Lead. This person will be responsible for North America Workday HCM solution design and deployment for our agencies. The Workday Functional Consultant will ensure that the solution aligns with the Global template model following requirements and is aligned with future product vision.
Key Responsibilities The role involves creating innovative and functional HCM solutions supporting global deployment in Workday Core HCM, Compensation, and Absence for WPP's North America Agencies.
This role requires partnering with business stakeholders, process leads, and technical leads to capture requirements and perform fit-gap analysis to the global template.
You will also work alongside system integrator (SI) partners and WPP SMEs to agree on technical capability and configuration setup to build a product that has a sustainable future as WPP scales the Workday global solution in other geographic areas.
As part of your job, you will lead functional stand-ups with cross work-stream and PMO to track regular updates and provide project management reports to the project manager based on agreed governance.
You will also help agency decision-makers with product demos on Workday HCM in a non-technical language and support the agency in understanding Workday concepts and tracking the completion of functional workbooks. Additionally, you will participate in CCS (Customer Confirmation Session) and lead some topics for discussion.
You will be expected to support various testing phases to help the WPP Agency end user. This includes building scenarios, validating scenarios, and defect triage as part of the solutions team.
You will also coordinate with the data team to align the data migration scope to functional design and support cutover activities where required as part of a functional team.
Furthermore, you will support the agency post-go-live in the hypercare period and manage change requests by performing impact assessments and offering solution options and recommendations that fit the requirements.
Finally, you will participate in the HCM product governance meetings to evaluate solution recommendations functionally and technically.
Skills and Experience The ideal candidate should possess prior Workday HCM Configuration experience within a multi-country global company.
You should have worked as an Analyst, Consultant or Solution Lead. The candidate should also be an expert in Workday HCM modules, such as Core HR, Absence, Benefits, Talent, etc. They should have prior experience in configuring some Workday HCM modules and an understanding of others (e.g., organizations, hierarchies, workflows, reporting, and security roles).
It would be preferable if the candidate were previously Workday certified or part of the Workday HCM solution building for Workday customers or consulting.
The candidate should be able to drive the design across HCM, working with Process Owners, Change Leads, Integration Leads, and Payroll Leads. They should also clearly understand the Global Template and Global Business Process (HR Process) concept.
Furthermore, the ideal candidate should have a strong can-do attitude and willingness to share knowledge with the team and learn from their peers (on-shore and Off-shore).
Finally, they should be able to pick up knowledge of the business, new technology areas, and new processes/methodologies and apply these changes in the day-to-day working of the technology organization.
Day rate range specified below To be Successful - 3 - 4 Workday HCM Deployment experience as a Functional Lead / Consultant / Analyst
- Being previously certified in Workday core HCM or other models will be beneficial.
- Expertise in at least 2 Workday HCM modules and working/design knowledge of others.
- Experience working on a global deployment will be beneficial. (Global / Localization Concept)
- Previously deployed Workday HCM in the North America Region
- Available in the East Coast time zone to collaborate with a wider programme team based in London
