Description

As an Entry-Level Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for healthcare services. Primary Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records and patient information to ensure all information is up-to-date and accurate
- Verify insurance coverage via online portals and by calling insurance companies
- Preparing daily patient encounter forms
- Obtain prior authorizations when necessary
- Assist answering incoming calls during busy periods
- Fill out forms, upload or fax them, and file them in the patients' electronic health records
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-9, ICD-10) to diagnoses and procedures
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries and disputes

Salary Description
