Job Description

We are looking for an Entry Level Purchasing clerk to support sales and project management in respect to product BOMs, pricing, effective sourcing, and GP maximization.

The ideal candidate will be detail oriented. This person should understand the markets we serve as well as how to evaluate different suppliers. Communication skills are critical for successful negotiations as well as maintaining supplier relationships. This is a great opportunity for someone who is in the early stages of their career and has an interest in sales and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Research product pricing and availability on Bill of Materials ranging from simple to complex.
• Negotiate product pricing and terms.
• Recommend alternative/ replacement product to enhance GP and increase chances of winning business.
• Have in-depth knowledge of all available resources for product support, both internal and external.
• Identify potential new suppliers.
• Source new Product.
• Process Purchase Orders and manage ETAs for on-time delivery; expediting orders when necessary.
• Support Sales team by generating customer facing quotes.
• Develop expertise in Bid response and customer pricing levels.
• Grow and maintain relationships with vendors and distributors.

Qualifications:

• College degree (Bachelor’s preferred).
• 1-2 years purchasing/ procurement experience.
• Strong organizational skills, superior attention to detail and quality awareness, excellent oral and written communications skills
• Multi-tasking and time management skills, strength in setting priorities, a problem solver and able to self-manage and self-motivate.
• A sustained sense of urgency and goal orientation, strong desire to succeed, highly motivate, independent, resourceful and willing to learn, positive attitude and team player.
• Prior experience with quoting tools, accounting system, and MS Office suite of products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. NetSuite and Channel on Line experience a plus.
