Community Health Educator Position Summary The Community Health Educator is a health professional focused on promoting good health and disease prevention in the community. This position empowers people to take control of their health by connecting them to health-promoting resources and information. The educator plans, develops, implements, and promotes initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles. Programs are designed to further public awareness and understanding of factors influencing health status including behaviors and resources. The main purpose of this position is to research, plan, schedule, and implement health outreach and health education programming such as chronic disease self-management and prevention education in community settings. The Educator uses various techniques to uncover the most pressing health education needs of the communities served. The position develops strategies to address those needs in partnership with community members and internal and external stakeholders. The Community Health Educator will also be responsible for updating content on the Healthy Delmarva platform, a regional resource for health data and information.
Community Health Educator Position Requirements Education
- Bachelor's degree in Community Health Education, Social work or comparable Health science field is required. Experience in lieu of education may be considered.
- Community Health Education Specialist Certification (CHES) is preferred.
Experience
- Experience working in a clinical and/or administrative role in either acute care or community outpatient setting is preferred
Community Health Educator Benefits - At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
