Talon is a small business staffing and engineering firm providing innovative, end-to-end, rapid turn solutions to our government and commercial clients. Founded in 2019, Talon employs over 125 Aerospace and Defense engineers and other support staff to solve problems for a variety of applications to include aircraft, ballistics, cybersecurity, motorsports, armor development, biological systems, missiles, and warheads. Talon has an office in Tucson, AZ that is providing staffing solutions, technical services support, and manufacturing to Fortune 500 companies. Position Role Type: Contract Labor Location: Tucson, AZ - Hybrid Aerospace Engineer Job Description: The Aerospace Engineer will create schematics, test prototypes and produce finalized designs for military technology and physical infrastructure. You will work within the chemical, mechanical and electrical engineering specialties, depending on your background. The tasks may vary depending on the specific role and branch. Common responsibilities include: research scientific concepts, design camouflage, interpret satellite images, create terrain plans and excavate combat areas, build roads and pathways, test military vehicles, invent explosive devices, locate land mines, design electrical systems, repair aircraft and watercraft, and strategize military operations. Pr imary Qualifications: Advanced skills using company software Proven ability to communicate well in written and verbal communications Design thinking for product inventions and enhancements Motivation and commitment to providing interpersonal customer service Knowing and applying current industry standards and information Soft skills including a positive attitude, flexibility and conflict resolution The ability to solve problems creatively on time Experience leading STE development (and prime hardware) test activities. Experience with security requirements related to government testing. Having up-to-date knowledge and technical skills Must Have Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship. Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience. Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
