Job Description

The ideal Accounting Intern candidate will be eager to learn and energetic with a penchant for prioritization, organization, and attention to detail. The candidate will assist the Accounting Department with various tasks ranging from pulling and reviewing invoices, assisting in updating monthly reconciliations, and performing SOX control documentation and testing. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), practices, processes, and procedures is preferred as well as experience working with Microsoft Excel or similar software.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Update monthly reconciliations and upload into Blackline system for manager review
• Prepare journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and general ledger coding to be uploaded into SAP
• Export and log Skyworks requisition data used to create Internal Order project numbers
• Review and validate invoices in Accounts Payable Basware system
• Reach out to vendors to get updated information, such as tax ID, payment information, remittance contact information
• Documenting and testing Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls that complies with AICPA standards
• Maintaining user access security for audit tool (wDesk)
• Occasional ad-hoc tasks such as updating records within SAP, pulling invoices for audit purposes, and building upload files to update vendor/supplier information

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program (Sophomore, Junior, or Senior preferred) and taking classes towards an accounting degree
• Candidate should be a strong self-starter, detail oriented, be able to take instruction and follow through on tasks, and collaborate well on a team
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft applications preferred
• Excellent communication across all levels of the Skyworks organization as well as with external contacts

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
